The American Chamber of Commerce Jamaica (AMCHAM) is a non-profit organization and independent association.
It was formed in 1986 by U.S. businesspeople and Jamaicans who do business with the United States of America.
AmCham Jamaica is one of 28 AmChams. Others include Haiti, Dominican Republic, Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Trinidad & Tobago, Brazil, Argentina, Panama and Columbia.
AmCham represents more than 20,000 companies throughout the region and the hemisphere with over 80% of U.S. investment in the region.
This strengthens our reach as a body to encourage business linkages and promote partnerships.
The main goals are connected to the overall ambition of AMCHAM Jamaica are:
• To promote trade opportunities between Jamaica, the United States, the region and the world.
• To promote Jamaican exports.
• To provide Jamaican and American businesspeople with a forum to advocate public policies that will enhance the business climate between the two countries.
• To maintain a climate of cordiality between the public and private sectors of both countries, and to promote greater understanding between their people.
