Jamaican Teas Limited (formerly Tetley Tea Co. (Ja) Ltd) was founded in Jamaica in 1967 and initially produced only black tea under the Tetley brand and provided contract manufacturing arrangements. The company was acquired by the father-and-son team of Adeeb and John Mahfood in 1995. Since then, the Caribbean Dreams brand has been launched, offering consumers unique herbal combinations and infusions. The brand's product range has expanded to include instant mixes and a range of pantry items, such as soup mixes and spring water - Jamaica Blue. Teas and soup mixes are also produced through private label arrangements for a number of other local and international companies.
Today, with over forty different types of teas, the company is the largest producer of teas in the Caribbean, with 60% of its products exported to fourteen (14) Caribbean markets, North and South America, and the United Kingdom.

Jamaican Teas Limited (JTL) became a public company in 2010 and is listed on the Jamaica Junior Stock Exchange. The company continues to diversify its product offerings and is undergoing expansion by adding other product lines and investments in key growth areas. JTL now comprises three (3) divisions: Manufacturing, Retail, and Real Estate. Our Retail Division operates a chain of supermarkets in Jamaica with future expansion in the pipeline, while our Real Estate Division develops housing and commercial properties in the Jamaican market.
