Kier Construction- Caribbean (KCL) executes a wide range of civil engineering, building and industrial works in the Caribbean and Americas for a diverse range of clients inclu ding blue chip companies and Governments.

Work is undertaken in a number of key sectors including: Industrial/Process, Commercial, Transport, Power, Mining, Marine, Hotel & Tourism, Retail, Water, and Rail.

KCL carries out multi-discipline construction work, undertaking demolition, piling, civil, building, structural, mechanical and electrical work and provides construction management services.

Kier has maintained a regional office in Kingston, Jamaica, for over 50 years. During that time the company has been a major player on the Jamaican and Caribbean construction scene. Successfully completed projects include industrial plants, factories, residue disposal areas, bridges, water treatment plants, marine works, office buildings, airports and resort hotels.

In April 2011 Kier also opened an opened an office in Trinidad to reestablish roots where Kier carried out major projects in the 1980's.

Kier's Harbour Head base in Kingston, as well as providing regional offices, also offer storage, equipment maintenance workshops, re-bar cutting and bending and reinforced concrete pre-casting facilities. These facilities allow off-site pre-assembly and modularised solutions to be adopted where suitable, reducing site installation times and improving quality.

KCL, as part of a leading construction group, can call upon considerable in-house resources and experience gained over many years of contracting. In particular, Kier Engineering Services offers permanent works design of foundations and buildings, and temporary works design in support of projects. Kier Construction (Caribbean) carries out contracts of all sizes, typically ranging from US$300.00 thousand to US$100.00 million. Surdeen Equipment and Trucking Company began operation in 2004. The shareholders are Mr. John R. Surdeen and Ms. Raquel R. Boyd.

The company's major activities of the c ompany are the rental of heavy duty equipment, sale of new heavy equipment, sale of used heavy equipment, the sale of new parts, the sale of used parts and the service and repair of hydraulic hammer and heavy equipment etc.

Surdeen Equipment and Trucking Co. Ltd. recently began executing civil engineering construction work. To date the company has completed four (4) projects of varying sizes. Three of these projects were as sub-contractors to KIER / CCC (Jamaica) Joint Venture on the South Manchester Mines Development Project.

The company intends to intensify its effort in this new venture.

Surdeen Equipment & Trucking Co. Ltd. has experienced a rapid growth in business operation, with the acquisition of several new and efficient equipments, making a total of twenty (20) pieces of heavy duty equipment for rental. Heavy equipment rentals are done based on contracts and hourly rental limited to equipment working a minimum of four (4) hours. Job over a maximum 15 days requires a Purchase Order before commencement of job.

Equipment rental rates for jobs also attract a transportation cost based on location of the job.
