COMPANY OVERVIEW

Petrojam, Jamaica’s only petroleum refinery is a limited liability company
jointly owned by PDVCaribe, a subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela (PD VSA) and the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ). The PCJ is a statutory body created and wholly owned by the Government of Jamaica.

Petrojam supplies a full range of domestic, transportation and industrial petroleum products. We also operate a laboratory which provides quality control and certification services for petroleum products manufactured and imported by the refinery. Laboratory service is also provided to Jamaican businesses and the scientific community.

HISTORY

We trace our roots back to March 1964, when ESSO built, and operated the refinery for 18 years when it was sold to the Government of Jamaica. In 1982, the government purchased the Esso Kingston Refinery and established Petrojam Limited. Later
in 2006 the Government of Jamaica sold 49% of its shares to PDVCaribe.

Petrojam operates a 35,000 barrel per day hydro-skimming refinery, to produce Automotive Diesel Oil
Heavy Fuel Oil
Kerosene/Jet Fuel, Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), Asphalt and Gasoline. Both grades of unleaded gasoline (90 and 87 R+M/2) contain 10% ethanol. Ultra low sulphur diesel is imported so that the company can supply the market demand.

The company focuses primarily on meeting the needs of the national market, and does this through a mix of refining and importation of finished products. Customers served include the Power Producers

PETROJAM QUALITY ASSURANCE LABORATORY OPERATIONS

The laboratory’s primary function is to ensure that the products we supply to the market (whether it is produced or imported) meet all legal and contractual specifications. To do this, samples are tested and analyzed from all process unit streams and blended products to ensure that it meets the specifications required by the Refinery. Each batch of fuel (which incl udes gasoline, kerosene, automobile diesel, heavy fuel oil, LPG, ethanol and asphalt), is analyzed, if the product meets the specifications it is certified by the laboratory before being made available to our customers.

The state of the art facility will ensure energy security for Jamaica and bring benefits to Jamaica at several levels. With its expansion in 2013, Petrojam will produce environmentally friendly petroleum products to international standards. New products from the refinery will also facilitate development in other areas of the economy, including petcoke as a fuel for electricity generation and Sulphur for chemical companies.

PETROJAM QUALITY ASSURANCE LABORATORY OPERATIONS

The laboratory’s primary function is to ensure that the products we supply to the market (whether it is produced or imported) meet all legal and contractual specifications. To do this, samples are tested and analyzed from all process unit streams and blended products to ensure that it meets the specifications required by the Refinery. Each batch of fuel (which incl udes gasoline, kerosene, automobile diesel, heavy fuel oil, LPG, ethanol and asphalt), is analyzed, if the product meets the specifications it is certified by the laboratory before being made available to our customers.

The state of the art facility will ensure energy security for Jamaica and bring benefits to Jamaica at several levels. With its expansion in 2013, Petrojam will produce environmentally friendly petroleum products to international standards. New products from the refinery will also facilitate development in other areas of the economy, including petcoke as a fuel for electricity generation and Sulphur for chemical companies.
