The Hon. Daryl Vaz, MP is the Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport. The Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport (MSETT), previously known as the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology (MSET), underwent a pivotal transformation in 2023. The Telecommunication and Transport portfolios were seamlessly integrated, marking a new era for Jamaica's approach to these sectors.
The major priorities of this Administration for the Ministry are the creation of an enabling environment to facilitate access to alternative sources of energy, greater incorporation of science and innovation as well as ensuring universal access to broadband and wireless services as a right for all Jamaicans, with a specific focus on rural Jamaica.
With a commitment to shaping a technologically advanced and globally competitive Jamaica, MSETT stands as a beacon of progress, guiding the nation's strides in science, energy, telecommunications, and transport.
