TOTAL RECYCLING was created to provide recycling collection services to businesses and households across the length and breadth of Jamaica. Our primary business is to source, transport and process, plastics and cardboard among a host of other materials, in accordance with National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) standards, that is collected from clients across Jamaica.
The recyclable materials accepted for paper include: office paper, file folders, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, catalogues, telephone books, etc. Accepted as recyclable materials, plastic includes PET
like beverage bottles, medicine jars, liquid cleaner bott les, and detergent bottles, etc. High-Density Polyethylene or HDPE such as containers for milk, water jugs, shampoos and conditioners, fabric softener, motor oil, and anti-freeze etc., are welcomed. We are continually impressed by the overwhelming positive reception the concept of recycling efforts has received. We estimate that we assist in diverting up to 2400 tonnes of garbage per year from the Riverton landfill and approximately 1200 tonnes from the other combined landfills outside of Kingston. This is definitely a significant contribution to the care and protection of the environment as this effort plays its part in reducing the frequency of landfill fires and other related occurrences.
