Dorset Estate & Country Club is a residential housing development located on lands part of the famous Whitehall Estate which is situated on a hill six miles from Port Maria in the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica. The Pagee River meanders through the estate, providing the soothing sound of water against the swaying sound of the elegant palm trees which adorn the property.

Whitehall Estate is one of the oldest properties in Jamaica with a colourful history dating back to the days of the Tainos. One of the earliest estate maps of 1675 reveals that it was once part of the vast Llanrumney Estate which belonged to Sir Henry Morgan, the notorious king of the buccaneers. By a curious twist of fate, Henry Morgan ended up being knighted by King Charles II, to later become Lt. Governor of Jamaica. He then named his plantation in Jamaica, Whitehall Estate after the Royal Palace of King Charles II of England (who was brought up in the care of the Countess of Dorset). The Whitehall Estate property played major role in the rich history of the parish of St. Mary and indeed the entire island of Jamaica. Two major uprisings affected the estate, the Tacky Easter Rebellion in 1760 and the Black Water Rebellion six years later.
