Secret #1 – Focus on the story and not the sale

We know it’s very important for your business to drive  sales. But sometimes the focus is so much on sales, that it overpowers the meaning of what your video is conveying. Use the opportunity to emotively tap into the true desires of your consumers by theming the video to match their expectations. This allows you to concentrate on the value you’re providing for your customers.

You can then use a strategically placed call to action at the end of your video or even midway to generate leads. Feel free to tag your website’s URL too!

Secret #2 – Make your start the BEST 10 SECONDS!

Be short and get to the point. One fifth of your viewers will click away from a video within 10 seconds or less. The first few seconds of your video should spark the interest of the viewer and hook their attention immediately.

The viewer’s ultimate question is, ‘Why should I watch this?’ Answer that question by  ensuring that your video conveys its value. You need to determine if the end result would encourage them to act (make a purchase, etc) or learn something new.

Secret #3 – Educate your customers about YOU!

Video is one of the most powerful methods you can use to teach potential and existing customers about your offerings. It also gives you an opportunity to teach your customers how to use your product or service. You can then customize your edit according to your preferred format (E.g. Quick tips, useful solutions, life hacks, etc.).

Video also provides an opportunity for you to position your brand/business as a thought leader through webinars to showcase your knowledge of the industry. Testimonials are also key in video marketing- you can use them as social proof for your product/service. When viewers see the truth behind your business from another consumer, they will feel more inclined to support your business.

Secret #4 – Use Keywords (Tag It Up)

One of the aims of even doing a video in the first place, is for it to be easily discovered. When it comes to videos for Search Engine Optimization (SEO), descriptions are important! Why? This allows Google search spiders to understand the content you’ve put out and to make sense of the video. This means you’d need to tag your videos with relevant keywords and well written descriptions. Ensure that you have a great title while you’re at it!
