7th Carriacou Maroon and String Band Music Festival
The 2017 Carriacou Maroon and String Band Music Festival will be held from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th April.
The island’s culture is expressed through music and dance forms handed down through generations as the people remember the African tribes. The descendants of the enslaved Congo, Mandinka, Chamba, Kromati, Ibo and Temne are the Carriacou Maroons.
Held over three days, the Festival of music and food patrons will sample the traditional Carriacou Maroon smoked food, while enjoy performances from string bands and drummers.
