Annual Kite Flying
A popular Easter tradition, the Turks and Caicos Annual Kite Flying Competition is held in Providenciales, North Caicos, South Caicos and Grand Turk. The competition includes an egg hunt, kids’ activities, music, bouncing castles, local food and prizes.
This tradition has been around for a quarter of a century, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year in 2017.
Prizes are given for the largest kite, the smallest kite, most artistic kite, best traditional kite, best company kite and best overall kite.
The event is free and takes place throughout the whole month of April at different locations around the islands. Use this event as an opportunity to take a boat around the islands and explore what Turks and Caicos have to offer. Some islands are accessible by airplane; others need to be accessed by boat.
The kick off for the Annual Kite Flying Competition is Saturday 1st April.
