Breast Cancer Events
October is breast cancer awareness month and the community of the Cayman Islands show their support by hosting and attending themed events throughout October. Here are a list local events happening in around breast cancer awareness month.
Adult Slumber Party – Saturday 30th September 8pm – midnight
DMS Broadcasting hosts the first ever adult slumber party and breast cancer fundraiser, to introduce October’s breast cancer awareness month.
Stop by to see the Marriot Ballroom transform into the ultimate girl’s night in. Activities include a pamper corner, featuring makeup artists from TIGI, a nail station and hair stylists. There will also be live music, chick-flicks, a game corner, cash bar and thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes to win!
Tickets are $55 and include a welcome cocktail, late night snacks and a party bag. Proceeds will go to support Breast Cancer Research.
17th Annual Cut-A-Thon – Sunday 1st October 2pm – 6pm
The 17th Annual Cut-A-Thon, hosted by Eclipze Hair Design and Day Spa, is a fun event catered to everyone.
Special services offered are wet cuts for men, women and children at discounted rates. There will also be mini-manicures, eyebrow threating, dollar-a-minute massages and $2 a minute reflexology.
All services are first come, first serve.
Curls 4 the Girls – Saturday 7th October – 8am – 1pm
7 Mile Strength & Fitness: Home of CrossFit 7 Mile is hosting Curls 4 the Girls, an open CrossFit class for anyone interested. Throwdown will take place instead of Open Gym, starting at 10:30am. Participants must be pre-registered and the cost is $35, which includes an event t-shirt.
Drop in’s welcome! Proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Breast Cancer Gala Dinner – Saturday 7th October – 6pm – 11pm
The Cayman Breast Cancer Foundation hosts the annual fund raising gala at the Ritz-Carlton.
Proceeds for this event go straight to the foundation and support breast cancer patients and research. Speakers for this year’s gala dinner include Bill and Giuliana Ranic, celebrating five years of being cancer free.
The evening will be full of entertainment such as silent and live auctions, a raffle, dinner and musical entertainment provided by the Emily Mowbray Band.

11th Annual Pilates for Pink – Saturday 14th October – 9am – 11am
Come out to the Arc at Camana Bay for a Pure Pilates POWER workout! The pink pre-party will take place from 9am to 10am and the Pure Pilates Power Workout will commence from 10am to 11am.
This workout is fun for all ages and fitness levels, combining the strength, power and flexibility of Pilates with fun cardio blasts thrown in.

This year, participants will receive a special edition Pilates for Pink tank top, a pink resistance loop and an ENERGY fitness to towel to use during the workout. The first 150 to register are also entered into a draw for an Apple TV, a $300 ENERGYfit class pass or a pink BOSU Ball.
