Emancipation Photography Exhibition Competition 2017

The Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) has opened a call for photographers to submit their work to the 2017 annual emancipation exhibition.  The theme is ‘Tourism, Politics and Economic Freedom.’

Entrants are required to submit five photos based on the  theme.

Digital entries must be sent to the CDF via email, info@cdfstlucia.org or brought into the CDF office on USB drive. The images must be in jpg, jpeg or tiff format, and be a minimum 300 dpi.

The photos must be original compositions and should not have been previously published.

The competition is open to all St. Lucians.

The judging criteria are:

  • Technical skill and composition– 40 points
  • Interpretation of theme – 50 points
  • Originality – 30 points
  • Quality of photo – 40 points
  • Colour and creativity -30 points
  • Impact on page or on screen – 40 points
  • Creation of a story- 30 points

The top four selected entries will receive cash prizes:

  • 1st place $1000
  • 2nd place $500
  • 3rd place $ 400
  • 4th place $ 300

The prize winning four best entries will be showcased in a special exhibition.

The competition closes on Wednesday 19th July, 2017.

Registration forms can be downloaded from CDF website and Facebook page.  The registration fee XCD $20 and is to be paid at the CDF, Bernard’s Hill Castries.
