International Fishing Tournament
The 20th annual Cayman Islands International Fishing Tournament will take place this year from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th April.
Fishing has been a tradition for Caymanians for years. Arguably, it’s in our blood, part of our culture and has a strong presence in our heritage. This tournament celebrates Caymanian fishing talent while also inviting international participants to compete alongside locals. It is also a tourist attraction, helping to boost the economy through popular sport.
Eligible fish for this competition include Billfish, Yellowfin, Tuna, Dolphin and Wahoo. Boat registration is US$500/CI$400 per boat.
Optional meat fish jackpot will be US$500/CI$400 per species. Prizes will be awarded for first and second heaviest of each species on each day.
Registration deadline for Cayman Brac and Grand Cayman is 25th April from 6pm to 9pm.
Weigh station for Grand Cayman will be Barcadere Marina and in Cayman Brac at Channel Wharf. There is over US$200,000 in cash and other prizes to be won. The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 2nd May.
