Jamaica International Invitational Meet
The Jamaica International Invitational Meet will be bringing some incredibly talented track and field athletes to compete in Kingston this May.
On 19 May the crowd at the National Stadium will watch the athletes leave it all on the field in their pursuit of first place.
This year’s staging of the event is set to see one of the highest quality line-up of athletes in recent years and most of the events are expected to be very competitive.
Confirmed competitors are double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson, Shericka Jackson, Kerron Stewart, and Julian Forte. Bahamian Shaunae Miller, as well as Americans Mike Rogers and LaShawn Merritt, are also slated to compete.
The Jamaica International Invitational Meet’s core competitions are an exciting line-up of events including:
- 200m women
- 1500m women
- 100m hurdles women
- Long Jump women
- Shot Put women
- Hammer throw women
- 100m men
- 800m men
- 3000m men
- 400m hurdles men
- High jump men
- Triple jump men
The meet was first organised in 2004. It has been classed as an IAAF World Challenge meet event since 2010, just one step below the rank of Diamond League.
Tickets are $1500 for Grandstand A, $3000 for Grandstand B, and $4500 for the Finish area. Ticket sales will start on 16 May.
