Music at the Library
Cayman Arts Festival, in collaboration with the Cayman Islands Public Library Service, presents Music at the Library.
The monthly concert series of classical music and poetry begins on 13th September at the George Town Public Library, and features performances by pianist Glen Inanga, violinists Sarah Newman and Naomi Allnutt, and cellist Dequan Smith. Their programmes will include pieces by Mozart, Haydn, Bloch and Faure.
CAF Director Marius Sabian says that the collaboration was natural. “We received a generous donation to purchase a grand concert piano from London. I have a relationship with the team at the Public Library, and we had already been discussing hosting a concert series there. In the future, we hope to extend the event to library branches in other districts as well. We will also incorporate kids’ events with shorter music programmes and fun activities.”
For those who work in George Town, Marius says the events are the perfect way to avoid the 5pm rush hour and enjoy a cultural event until traffic eases. For more information on event details, see below, or contact Cayman Arts Festival at 922-5550 / [email protected]
