The act of observing, or spotting, can be a fantastic hobby that takes you on great adventures. Depending on what you like to see, an observation hobby can take you through extremely beautiful and vibrant parts of your country.
Some hobbies may require special equipment and an investment in tools and education materials to learn and grow. Or it can cost you nothing at all and you can simply start paying attention and noting.
Many observation hobbies combine other hobbies. For example a birdwatcher may keep notes and start journaling, and capture images and become devoted to photographing the birds.

Amateur astronomy – participants enjoy watching the sky, and the abundance of objects found in it. You can start with basic, your eyes and just look up and observe, or you may want to invest in binoculars and telescopes. Several cultural groups such as the Indians and the Chinese have developed elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. Birdwatching – or birding, is a form of wildlife observation in which the observation of birds. It can be done with the naked eye, through a visual enhancement device like binoculars and telescopes, by listening for bird sounds. Hiking – or backpacking, or sometimes it is just a very long walk. Do you enjoy being outside and exploring? Then, hiking may be for you. Long, vigorous walk on trails in the countryside and up and down hills and mountains require physical strength, endurance and some planning. Be sure have water, staying hydrated is important, have snacks, a map, and rain-proof gear and get sturdy comfortable hiking shoes. Photography – We love all bright beautiful sharp pictures. We will spend hours going through get flat lays on social and most of us enjoy a good selfie, but what does it really take to become a good photographer? As an amateur photographer to may not want to invest in the latest lenses and you don’t have to, start off small, and play around with the image setting and editing app available on your phone. See what you can capture the best. This hobby requires some time, effort and equipment.
Urban Exploration – Unlike hiking you are not going through the wild, you stay in your city. In urban exploration, you will venture out to see man-made structures, usually abandoned ruins or not usually seen components of the man-made environment.
