I wish I could rate zero stars! Going to see Dr Thomas was one of the most awful experiences I’ve had with a healthcare professional in Barbados - ever! And I didn’t even make it to the examination room. He was extremely rude when I asked him questions and even insinuated that I should see my usual doctor. I was genuinely shocked at his lack of bedside manner. Short yes and no answers and he couldn’t even be bothered to make eye contact. Is this how all potential paying customers are treated? What was especially disheartening was that he knew the reason why I was there to see him and the delicacy of my situation yet showed no empathy toward me. I understand that this may be something that he’s exposed to daily but have you become so desensitized that you’ve forgotten how to be a decent human being? I do not know if Hugh Thomas is a brilliant doctor but based on bedside manner alone I wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy.
