C.O. Williams Construction had its modest start back in 1960 as a small enterprise when founder, Sir Charles Williams, started providing relatively simple earth-moving & agric
ultural cultivation services using a single tractor.
C.O. Williams Construction Limited is today one of the Caribbean's leading and most respected civil engineering and highway construction companies providing services across the region from its headquarters in Barbados and regional offices in Antigua and St. Lucia.
C.O. Williams Construction Limited is a major asphalt and aggregate producer on the island, with a monthly output of aggregate in excess of 35,000 tons and an annual production of asphalt exceeding 36,000 tons.
The asphalt plant is a fully computerised drum mix plant by Allmix, and has a capacity of 100 tons per hour. The crushing plant at Lears is by Parker, with a primary crusher of 400 tons per hour capacity and a secondary crusher with 300 tons per hour capacity, feeding two 3- deck screens.
The asphalt and aggregates laboratory, also located at Lears, is the best equipped and most modern in the private sector. Quality control of the asphalt and aggregates produced is ensured by procedures such as: proctors, sieve analysis, specific gravity, extraction, penetration and Marchall Mix Design including: stability and flow, maximum theoretical density and softening point. In the field nuclear density testers are used to ensure that the compaction is achieved to specification.
C. O. Williams Asphalt and Quarries Limited also offer drilling and blasting services. All blasting is carried out by certified personnel and monitored for ground vibration and decibel level using modern seismograph equipment.

gside its sales division to encompass a comprehensive range of construction, property maintenance and do-it-yourself equipment. In 2006 the business acquired a local competitor and in so doing added a full range of aerial access equipment, lighting and power generation equipment to their range and has since then developed a sound reputation in the entertainment industry with this added service.
