The American University of Barbados, School of Medicine is located in Barbados. The medical school operates with a vision to produce medical graduates with world-class competence who are emotionally and culturally sensitive. Accreditations and Registrations
The American University of Barbados, School of Medicine is accredited by CAAM-HP and also by the Barbados Accreditation Council (BAC) and is among the top universities of the Caribbean. Chartered by the Government of Barbados, Licensed & Recognized by the Ministry of Education, Barbados, it is also certified by ECFMG, listed with FAIMER and World Federation for Medical Education and recognized by the Medical Council of India. This makes AUB a globally recognized medical school. Hence, our graduates can practice as medical professionals anywhere across the world after taking the required examination in the country of their choice.

The Curriculum at AUB
AUB offers two comprehensive MD programs, a 5 ½ year program for high school finishers and 4 year program for college graduates. With a US style curriculum and extensive U.S.M.L.E. focused teaching our students do their theoretical learning in Barbados and have the choice of doing their clinical rotations at hospitals in USA and Caribbean Islands. AUB has the distinction of having on-campus Medical Clinic which provides students with clinical exposure from the start. Students participate in observerships and have sessions with both nursing practitioners and medical doctors The Clinical Sciences Program comprises of an intensive 72 weeks of physician-supervised bedside teaching where our students rotate through various medical specialties and subspecialties. Rotations are conducted in the best teaching hospitals in USA allowing students to hone their skills in patient examination, diagnostic evaluation and critical thinking through direct patient care.

Teaching Methodology
Our advanced teaching methods instill theoretical and clinical knowledge in our students. The integrated methodology includes Medical Simulation Games, 3D Animation Presentations and Educational Softwares that are developed in collaboration with Era's Lucknow Medical College, a top-ranking medical college of India.

The American University of Barbados is an associate concern of Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital, which has consistently been ranked among the top medical colleges of India in surveys conducted by leading media agencies. Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital runs postgraduate medical courses in 19 departments. The college, along with its 806 bed multi-specialty hospital, has been functioning as a Centre of Excellence in medical education, healthcare and research. Admissions are open three times in a year January, May and September.
