ProSource Ltd is working with the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) in Barbados as part of the Residential Waste Collection Improvement Project (RWCIP) to enhance the regularity and reliability of garbage collection on the island. The RWCIP was successfully launched in September 2021.
This project included the delivery of 100,000 65-gallon Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) enabled roll-out carts (green) for general waste, and 100,000 18-gallon recycling bins (blue) for households across Barbados.
ProSource believes the RWCIP will contribute to the improved health and wellbeing of all residents, improve the visual appeal of the country, and mean Barbados is well placed to attract the new 'planet conscious' traveller.
In addition, ProSource will work with the SSA to deliver a route planning and scheduling optimisation solution with in-vehicle navigation equipment for the collection trucks, which will provide better working conditions for the SSA staff.
