The West Indies (WI) Men’s Team will play England at Lord’s on Wednesday 10 July as the teams resume their battle for the Richards-Botham Trophy.

WI are the current holders after winning the Test series held in the Caribbean in 2021.

Ahead of the first Test, the West Indies were invited to Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles. The team were joined by High Commissioners from across the Caribbean.

During the visit, His Majesty spoke about the impact of Hurricane Beryl which affected several islands in the Caribbean at the start of July. According to Buckingham Palace, the King shared his “concerns and condolences” for the people of the region.

Speaking after the reception, WI captain Kraigg Brathwaite said: “We were honoured to be invited and it was a great opportunity for the whole team to be here. Hurricane Beryl has been devastating but we want to make West Indians proud and put a smile on their faces during these tough times.”
