The Belize Rugby Football Union was established in 2015, is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation whose remit is to develop, encourage and promote participation by men, women, and children in rugby, throughout Belize.
The sport was introduced as an alternative social and sports activity for the youth of Belize. Rugby is a team sport - it engages people of all ages and abilities in an exciting, competitive manner and thus encourages a healthy, happy, and rewarding lifestyle.
By 2019, there were seven clubs across the country, from Orange Walk to Hopkins, San Ignacio to San Pedro, plus the national team - The Belize Macaws.
