In many parts of the world, summer is one of the most anxiously awaited seasons of the year. With the warmer temperatures, there’s a burst of activities that take place. Although our climate is different here in Bonaire, we still get excited about ‘summer’, which begins officially on 20 June.
While several activities will herald the season locally, many welcome the opportunity to try something new, especially if it includes a weekend getaway. Well, it’s time to start planning your mini-break because, toward the month’s end, Aruba and Curaçao offer two distinct yet equally exciting events you can enjoy. First, seasoned seafarers or newbies seeking to experience exhilarating nautical adventures for the first time can head to Aruba for their annual regatta. The Aruba International Regatta takes place from 28 to 30 June.
Alternatively, you can swap venturing out on the deep blue sea and stay on land for two nights of music and dancing. The Hak’e Curaçao Summer Festival is a two-day music festival with various top acts taking centre stage. Entertainers such as Olga Tañon, Kinito Méndez, Nstyply and many others will make an appearance between the 28 and 29 June.
Start your summer with a bang! You can choose to sail the high seas this month’s end or dance the night away. To decide, you can access more information on the Aruba International Regatta 2024 website. You can also visit the Hak’e Curçao Summer Festival Facebook page to stay updated on the upcoming festival.
