Dr Dawn Bain is a British Virgin Islander, who has been practicing medicine for 30 years.
She studied medicine at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus, Jamaica, West Indies.
She went on to London, England to do Internship at Westminster and St Georges’ Teaching Hospitals. She returned to Jamaica to do Paediatrics (Bustamante Children’s Hospital), Obstetrics, Gynaecology (Victoria Jubilee Hospital and University Hospital) Accident and Emergency (Kingston Public Hospital) Community Medicine, Anaesthetics for adults (University Hospital) and for children (Bustamante Children’s Hospital).Due to these skills, Dr Bain has saved many persons’ lives as a passer-by in a foreign country.
Dr Bain also worked at the Eastbourne District General Hospital, East Sussex as Senior House Officer in Paediatrics and Neonatology, Accident and Emergency, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Care of the Elderly.
Dr Bain returned home to work at the Peebles Hospital Casualty Department in Tortola, BVI, for many years before starting Private practice as a General Family Practitioner. Her office is located in Road Town, next to the First Bank and behind Umi Fashion Store in the Tropic Aisle building.
Her hobbies are tennis, squash, dancing, chess, traveling. Apart from numerous trips to England, Europe, the USA and Caribbean, Dr Bain has traveled to Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates and Papua New Guinea.
