The Wellness Institute is the outpatient facility which provides Physical Therapy assessment and treatment in office, as well as home visits for cases where office visits are not an option. Dr. Jeff Chase of VI Orthopedics, is a US Board Certified surgeon with special interest in Shoulder injuries. Dr Chase is happy to see our patients in Tortola, one day each month, He performs assessments and treatment at The Wellness Institute and is available, via modern technology, 24/7 for follow-up. You can have your cast removed and assessment done on the same day. Diagnostic Ultrasound is also available for increased accuracy of intra-articular injections. We also provide Infrared and Cold Laser Therapy to enhance wound healing and pain management. The first service of this type in the territory.
Our Physiotherapist is a 1988 graduate of theUWI School of Physiotherapy. She has post graduate certification in Cyriax Joint Manipulation, as well as a McKenzie Manual Therapy. We manage orthopaedic, medical, and neurological conditions in both adults and children, including Erbs Palsy, Stroke, Pneumonia and Asthma. We have introduced the use of the 'Acapella' in the management mucus removal in appropriate patients, and we provide units for paediatric patients suffering from respiratory complications. For elderly patients who have been diagnosed with Atelectasis or Pneumonia, they can receive therapy in the comfort of their homes.
The Wellness Institute is open Monday through Friday, and Sundays. We also provide home visits for patients on Virgin Gorda.
