The First Baptist Christian School is an elementary school in Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands and is part of the First Baptist Church. The First Baptist Christian School is conveniently located in Red Bay, bordering South Sound, between the eastern districts of the Island and George Town.
The vision of First Baptist Christian School is "Preparing students in a Christ-centered environment to learn, serve, and lead in innovative and creative ways so that they can make meaningful contributions to the global community".
FBCS is a culturally diverse school with students from about 14 different countries around the world and with approximately 63% of our students being Caymanian. We offer education for Preschool age 2.0 years to Grade 7. Our school seeks to help students become independent, resilient learners who set goals, monitor their progress, and persist in challenging tasks to become successful learners. FBCS uses an American curriculum and follows the Virginia State Standards for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and special subjects such as Music, Physical Education, Technology, and Spanish. We follow the Cayman Islands Social Studies curriculum to explore Cayman's landscape and history, as well as neighboring countries, and the ACSI Bible curriculum. A biblical worldview is integrated into all subjects, and students also have opportunities to express this through chapel, devotions, and bible classes.
Learning is integrative where hands-on learning, problem solving, and innovation are used as opportunities for students to see their education and life experiences as an integrated whole, and for them to become self-directed learners. One of the great strengths of FBCS is the nurturing, kind, caring environment where each student can grow and thrive.
Educational Excellence Centered on Jesus Christ.
