  • Every year a third of a million people visit the Cayman Turtle Centre: Island Wildlife Encounter to find out for themselves exactly why Caribbean wildlife birds, turtles (big and small!), fish that shimmer and shine like underwater treasures are just so magical! This is a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature and more than just viewing the animals it's about a truly a life-changing encounter with them. From the huge but graceful turtles who hatched in the Centre over fifty years ago, to swimming with them in the saltwater lagoon or holding one of the playful yearling turtles in the Wading Pools you will be making memories you never forget! You can also see the big fish and sharks of the Predator Reef being fed. After you have seen everything you can make a big splash by sliding down the 40-foot water slide in the Freshwater Pool, or just chill by the side of the pool and enjoy a relaxing cocktail. Take home a souvenir of your visit from Splash, one of the island's most unique gift shops. It really is a lot of fun but everything we do at the Turtle Centre is for the conservation of wildlife - from the 32,000 turtles, we have released into the Caribbean sea, to the rare and White Crowned Pigeons which we have successfully bred and then released into the wild. Conservation means education and research, and both of these have continually developed since the Centre opened its doors half a century ago. But the biggest and the most important thing we do is changing people, one life at a time, with wonderful wildlife encounters, and precious family memories, and a new love of wildlife and the natural world around them.
