Graeme Thomson, started in the pool industry in high school as a swim instructor and Lifeguard. After university GT moved to Toronto, Canada and started work with Pool People, a commercial pool company. At Pool People GT worked as a Recreation Manager offering fitness, recreation programs and lifeguarding services to many condominium complexes in the Greater Toronto Area. After several years, GT moved into the commercial pool sales at Pool People. From there GT moved to a sister company of Pool People, Hydropool Industries which specialized in portable hot tubs. GT started with a placement on the factory floor and moved into his position of in Eastern Canada and North East USA Sales Manager. As the company grew GT moved into the position of General manager of the hot tub thermoforming and fiberglass manufacture facility and became the one of the leading team members spearheading the new swimspa division.
After 16 years Gt moved to the Cayman Islands to work in paradise under the employment of Pool Patrol. During the nearly 18 years at Pool Patrol, GT became the first and only Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Instructor in Cayman teaching over 100 pool technicians the skills to operate a pool properly thru the Certified Pool Operator Courses. With the onset of COVID, GT started to give back to the industry that has helped shape his career. Since early 2020, GT has sat on several PHTA swimming pool code writing committees updating codes in the areas of construction, safety, and maintenance, all to help pools to be safer for the community.
In late 2021, GT decided to reach for new heights and opened Splash Inc in early 2022. During the opening of Splash Inc. GT has also continued his career development and is now the Cayman Islandsâ?? only PHTA Certified Master Pool Builder & Design Professional (MCPB). Achieving the MCBP certification along with the PHTA Instructor Certification allows Splash Inc. to be the only professional pool company in Cayman to offer pool operation training, aquatic design, construction and renovations. To date, Splash has had a successful opening having already finalized many pool designs, completed a handful of pool renovations, started several new pool builds and opening the pool maintenance division with more growth to come. Splash Inc. looks forward to growing both at home in Cayman and internationally.
