Pirates Week is transforming into what might be aptly called Pirates Month as each island celebrates the occasion.
The cultural event is a well-loved fixture on the Cayman Islands social calendar and this year it will showcase the rich culture and maritime history of the islands under the theme ‘Setting Sail Through Time’.

The annual celebration immerses residents and visitors in the captivating world of pirates, with a series of exciting events, including parades and many other activities for the whole family.
This year’s planned events will include ‘District Days’ where, according to the organisers, “each area of the districts Cayman Islands will highlight local cuisine, arts, and performances that reflect its unique traditions.” Plus, there will be a national cultural parade in George Town.
Tune into storytelling during Pirates Week and of course, there is plenty of maritime fun. This year there will also be a thrilling pirate invasion re-enactment and a 5km sea swim.
