Overview
Established through the OECS Solid and Ship-Generated Waste Management Project, the Grenada Solid Waste Management Authority (GSWMA) operates under Act No.11 of 1995, further amended by Act No.30 of 1995. As the sole authority for waste management across the tri-island regions of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique, we oversee two primary waste disposal sites. While we are entrusted with the responsibility of solid waste collection and disposal, the Ministry of Health upholds the regulatory and enforcement aspects of solid waste management.
Guided by our motto, 'Striving for a Cleaner and Healthier Environment,' our mission is clear: to elevate the quality of life for the Grenadian public. We are committed to safeguarding and enhancing our environment through effective waste management strategies and delivering efficient, reliable, and high-standard solid waste services.
