Dr. IanG.Anderson is the Parish Veterinary Officer for St. Ann, assigned by the Government of Jamaica, The Veterinary Division, Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries.
Dr. Anderson is responsible for disease surveillance and its impact on the welfare of humans in St. Ann.
He keeps a close eye on the parish and its wellbeing, as was the case of an outbreak of 'Brucellosis' (Bang's disease/undulating fever) several years ago.
This was kept under control and has been successfully eradicated. Dr. Anderson generally handles these and other special cases.
His practice presently focuses on mainly facilitating the treatment and overall wellbeing of dogs and cats.
In 1982, Dr. Anderson was awarded a Government Scholarship to study at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama U.S.A.
This scholarship was awarded before the completion of his first degree in Natural Sciences at the University of the West Indies (Mona).
At Tuskegee University, Dr. Anderson completed a bachelor's degree in Pure and Applied Science,as well as his D.V.M. qualifying as a doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
He returned home in 1987 and was bonded with the Jamaican Government until 1992. Thereafter, he began his private practice.
