Island Dairies Limited (IDL) is a family-owned manufacturing company. The company produces milk products, juices, drinks, and ice cream. In 1982, it took over the operations of the Shaw Park Dairies in Ocho Rios, St. Ann. The factory was relocated to its present site, a 3-acre property on the outskirts of the capital town of St. Anns Bay in Priory, St. Ann, in 1994.
Island Dairies Limited is the only processing plant in the parish of St. Ann that produces milk, juices, drinks, and ice cream. It has been operating for over three decades and is a member of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association and the St. Ann Chamber of Commerce.
The company markets its products under a variety of brands that it owns, including Island Dairies, Sunripe, and EZ Sip. Additionally, we acquired the Cremo and Mellow brands in 2000 as a strategic move to maximise market share by separating the distribution of the Island Dairy and Cremo brands. IDL currently has three depots in the significant town areas of Kingston, Montego Bay, and Mandeville.
To make our products more accessible to customers, there are also three dairy shops in Brown's Town, Priory, and the bustling tourist centre of Ocho Rios. Island Dairies products are distributed to schools, supermarkets, retail shops and wholesalers island-wide using sales trucks and contractors. Our products are enjoyed by many Jamaicans.
Our operations are monitored closely by governing bodies such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the North Eastern Regional Health Authority (NEHRA) and the Jamaica Bureau of Standards. The National Environmental and Planning Authority (NEPA) is working with us to manage the Wastewater Treatment Plant on the property.
All these bodies combine to ensure that the company provides the Jamaican public with products that are not only delicious but safe for consumption in a secure environment. Island Dairies makes the most refreshing drink and dairy products in Jamaica that's why we are Jamaica's BEST!
