Island Dairies Limited (IDL) is a family-owned company that manufactures and distributes various farm-fresh dairy, juice, ice cream, frozen desserts, and drink products for local consumption. The company was incorporated in 1982 when it took over the operations of the Shaw Park Dairies in Ocho Rios, St. Ann. As the company expanded, in 1994, the factory was relocated to its present site, a 3-acre property on the outskirts of the capital town of St. Anns Bay in Priory, St. Ann.
Island Dairies Limited is the only processing plant in the parish of St. Ann which produces milk, juices, drinks, and ice cream. The company has been operating for over three decades and is a member of the Jamaica Manufacturers Association and the St. Ann Chamber of Commerce.
We market our products under a variety of brands we own, including Island Dairies, Sunripe, and EZ Sip. Additionally, the company acquired the Cremo and Mellow brands in 2000 as a strategic move to maximise market share by separating the distribution of the Island Dairy and Cremo brands. IDL currently has three depots in Kingston, Montego Bay, and Mandeville. We also have three dairy shops in Browns Town, Priory, and Ocho Rios.
Using sales trucks and contractors, Island Dairies products are distributed to schools, supermarkets, retail shops and wholesales island-wide and are enjoyed by many Jamaicans. Its operations are monitored closely by governing bodies such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the North Eastern Regional Health Authority (NEHRA) and the Jamaica Bureau of Standards.
The National Environmental and Planning Authority (NEPA) is working with the company to manage its Wastewater Treatment Plant on the property.
