The Fire Service in Jamaica was established in October 1871 with the formation of the Kingston Fire Brigade.
Our mission is to minimise loss of lives, injury to persons, and damage to property from fires, natural disasters, accidents, and other emergencies. Our duties are executed by the application of appropriate technology, fire prevention doctrines, rescue, and firefighting tactics, and acting in close collaboration with industries, businesses, institutions, households, and community organisations.
The Jamaica Fire Brigade conducts fire investigations, firefighting and rescue operations, and training. We also provide humanitarian aid and emergency medical services. At The Jamaica Fire Brigade, we believe in saving lives and protecting property.
