The history of the NCU Media Group dates back to the late 1990s when then West Indies College acquired a community radio broadcast license. The station started operating as WIC Radio 88.3 FM in 1999.
In 2009, the station received an all-island commercial license from the Broadcasting Commission and was then rebranded NCU FM.
Over time, NCU FM has experienced continuous growth in the Islands All Media Survey, ranking at number 7 of all radio stations island-wide in 2016. NCU FM radio station carries a number of programmes including headlines at the top of the hour, NCU Radio News Hour, as well as discussion and religious broadcasts.
