Overview
The Margaret O'Brian Private Cemetery originated as one among many business ventures conceptualized by Lazarus Funeral Home Ltd, Mr Michael O'Brian, better known as Mr Mike. Dissatisfied with just the funeral home Mr Mike long had a wish for his private cemetery to set the standard for others to follow.
Operational since 2001, two years after the passing of his wife Margaret O'Brian, after whom it is now named, the cemetery, situated at La Tourney, Vieux Fort occupies 1.2 acres of physical space.
The Margaret O'Brian Private Cemetery boasts a state-of-the-art layout. It carries all the amenities of a modern cemetery with a general area for after-burial receptions and overhead balcony and restroom facilities. There is also ample parking space adjacent to its location. Families receive high-quality service when saying their final goodbye to their loved ones.
Mr Michael O'Brian felt the need to expand the provision of burial space because he realized that the Margaret O'Brian Private Cemetery was quickly filling up. There was also an upsurge in demand for tombs. His goal was to provide a space where generations of the deceased can visit their loved ones in a tranquil setting. It also provided him with the satisfaction of having a burial ground named after himself, something he had long talked about. He acquired a further 2.2 acres adjacent to the Margaret O'Brian Private Cemetery and erected the perimeter walls before he passed away in April 2012.
The Michael O' Brian Private Cemetery is operated under similar protocols as the initial facility's order and maintenance. The tombs are similar, and costs vary by the number of chambers provided.
