Antigua and Barbuda Expands Restaurant Week into Culinary Month Event
by Karen Rollins May 5, 2025

Antigua and Barbuda’s annual Restaurant Week has been expanded into a new event that will celebrate the island’s rich variety of food throughout the month of May.
According to the organisers, the inaugural Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month will take locals and visitors on a “flavourful journey” focusing on “cuisine, culture, and community.”
Speaking at a recent media launch for the new event, the Culinary Month’s marketing consultant, Shermain Jeremy, shared her excitement about the initiative: She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be officially launching Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month 2025, a bold evolution from what many of you have known and loved as Restaurant Week.
“This new format allows us to expand our culinary offerings, tell richer stories, showcase more talent and importantly, extend our tourism season by positioning Antigua and Barbuda as the Caribbean’s new culinary destination.”
Chief Executive Officer at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin James, also told the audience: “We are just going to say that our waistlines may not thank us, but our taste buds certainly will for the rest of this month.
“You know what started as a one-week affair, three years ago, has now grown into a full month of delicious celebration. And we’re not mad about that. In fact, we’re hungry for more. More flavour, more flair, more foodie adventures.”
Antigua and Barbuda’s Culinary Month will feature a series of food and drink-based activities including Restaurant Week, a Food, Art & Beverage (FAB) Festival, the Eat Like a Local experience, and the Caribbean Food Forum.
An impressive list of international chefs with Antiguan and Caribbean connections such as Andi Oliver, Althea Brown, and Shorne Benjamin, will also partner with 30 restaurants around the island to curate unique culinary experiences from prix fixe menus to gourmet dinners.
