Yello’s Christmas Gift Guide: Present Suggestions for Everyone (Even Your Pets)
by Karen Rollins Dec 6, 2021
Buying presents for friends and family at Christmas can be fun, unless you have run out of ideas of what to get everyone!
If you’re struggling to think beyond socks, ties, cookbooks and school supplies, Yello is here to help.
Our gift guide offers suggestions for men, women, and children and even the animals in your life. Happy holiday shopping!
Gifts for women
Some women will tell their family not to bother buying them something for Christmas, but we all know that everyone appreciates a gift, especially if it is thoughtful and personal.
If you’ve been paying attention to the women in your life throughout the year, you should really know what they want, but here are three other tips:
1. You can’t really go wrong with jewellery because it’s something most women love, and very few will say ‘no’ to a new pair of earrings, a ring, necklace or bracelet. Just observe the style of jewellery the woman you are buying for already wears, and let that guide you.
2. Clothes and accessories are another potential sure-fire hit because hardly any woman ever has enough dresses, tops, bags or shoes.
3. Make-up is another excellent gift choice for women, although you might have to do some detective work to find out your recipient’s favourite brand and the right colour palette.
Gifts for men
A few people might say that men are simple creatures, and therefore gift buying for them should be easy. But some males can be surprisingly picky when it comes to presents, particularly if they seem to have everything they want already. These three ideas should help:
1. Sports clothing is the perfect choice for most men because, even if they’re not committed gym rats, they can still wear a pair of track shorts, trainers, or a gym top while running everyday errands.
2. Personal grooming products, like a beard care kit or an electric toothbrush, will be appreciated by most men, as these items are usually low on their list of priorities to buy for themselves.
3. Alcohol, especially in the form of a vintage bottle of wine, rum, or whiskey, should go down well with pretty much every adult male, especially if they can have it all to themselves.
Gifts for children
Children are usually easy to buy for once you provide them with whatever is trendy and in fashion at the moment. It gets a little harder to decide on a present when they are teenagers, but our top three gift suggestions for the kids in your life will help:
1. A laptop / tablet / smartphone or some kind of other technology that allows them to play games, scroll through social media, and communicate with friends.
2. Money so that they can go and buy what they want directly.
3. Books for school or just books they will enjoy reading for pleasure. The Guinness World Records book is a bestseller every year for a reason and popular with most children aged 18 and under.
Gifts for pets
Pets give us so much and expect very little in return, so it’s nice to make sure they get spoiled at Christmas too. It’s pretty much guaranteed that whatever you give your pet, they will be happy with, but here are three suggestions:
1. Toys will be loved by cats and dogs or any animal whose primary instinct involves running, hunting, or retrieving.
2. Food will be devoured by any pet, and additional tasty treats at Christmas are a great way to make sure your animal feels special and part of the holiday celebrations.
3. Extra cuddles, kisses and attention will never be wasted on any pet, so why not spend a bit of extra time during the festive season showing your pet as much love as possible.
