Aruba is known as the Street Art Capital of the Caribbean, but it wouldn’t be an exaggeration for us to claim another title—the Art Mecca of the Caribbean. That may spark some contention, but if any were to dispute either title, the activities on the island over the next few weeks will certainly prove we’ve earned both.

This September, we will host our customary art week, which features various creative events, including our eagerly anticipated annual Aruba Art Fair. The week of activities will begin on 4 September, with the art fair occurring the 8-10 September. It will be an amazing time with festivities galore!

Here’s what we mean. In addition to the art fair, there will be an event to which none can compare to usher in the week of art. From 26 August to 12 September, we will host our Mural Festival. The unique artistic event will feature recognised local and international muralists. Among the line-up of talented artists are local favourites Omaira Silva, Paul Wong, Elvis Tromp, Elisa Lejuez Peters and Robert “Ice One” Solognier.

San Nicolas, one of our island’s major attractions, will again draw the masses with the promise of embarking on exciting mural tours. Visitors will have a chance to explore the magnificent pieces featured on commercial buildings and street walls. It’s also a terrific opportunity to interact with graffiti artists like Portugal’s Mr Dheo and Odeith, and the Czech Republic’s Chemis.

We know you won’t want to miss this, so for more information, you can visit the Aruba Art Fair website or Facebook page.
