Let’s talk about the Aruba Health and Happiness Code.

We’ve all heard the adage: “health is wealth”, well here in Aruba we beg to differ.  We prefer to link health with happiness, and is it any wonder?  We are, after all, one happy island.

That said, it’s no surprise we would find a way to connect our distinctive characteristic of happiness with matters such as health—enter the Aruba Health and Happiness Code.

The Aruba Health and Happiness Code is a cleanliness and hygiene programme birthed out of the unprecedented occurrence of the coronavirus.

We want to secure the safety and health of all Arubans, as well as allow our visitors to traverse our beautiful country with peace of mind.  To this end, the Aruba Tourism Authority and the Department of Public Health set about a path to ensure that locals and visitors can feel safe in their interactions with one another.

Collaborating, the two departments instituted a rigorous cleaning and hygiene programme.  The certification programme aims to protect the health and wellbeing of the local community and potential visitors.

The Health and Happiness Code assures visitors that Aruban businesses have implemented all the necessary measures to provide a healthy environment.  How can you, as a visitor, be sure of this?

Well, it’s mandatory for local businesses wishing to engage in trade to align themselves with the safety protocols.  Also, a gold certification seal is awarded once the establishment passes an on-site inspection carried out by the Department of Inspection and Health.

As you travel through the island, you’ll spot the seal proudly displayed at hotels, resorts, restaurants, casinos and shops.  You’ll even notice it on taxis and with tour operators.

With our borders reopened and our Aruba Health and Happiness Code, there’s no reason to delay.

Come enjoy the serenity, happiness and warmth of our island and our people.

Bienvenido!
