The current war in Ukraine is dominating world headlines, and many people are wondering how they can help civilians caught up in the conflict.

Unfortunately, the fighting in Ukraine is not the only war going on in the world right now. There are ongoing conflicts in Yemen, Syria, Ethiopia, Libya, Mali, and Myanmar; just to name a few.

Several charities and international groups are working in these war-torn nations to provide humanitarian relief to the local population.

If you would like to help, the following organisations are accepting food, money, and clothing donations:

Samaritan’s Purse is an international relief and development organisation. It works to assist communities in need in Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.

World Vision has a presence in nearly 100 countries to provide immediate help during natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

The Red Cross has been in operation for 160 years. It provides relief and support to people in crisis in over 90 countries.

UNICEF specifically works to safeguard the lives of vulnerable children around the world.

Doctors Without Borders (also known as Medecins Sans Frontieres) has been operating since 1971 on a mission to “save lives and speak out.”

Action Aid is “a global federation working for a world free from poverty and injustice”. It was founded in 1972 and primarily focuses on social and economic justice.

When the world is in constant turmoil, it can make you feel hopeless and helpless, but giving what you can really does make a difference.
