Bahamas Marathon Weekend is the ultimate two-day running fest for all runners or those who just want to watch others break a sweat.

Over the course of two days, 13-14 January, there will be a marathon, half marathon, relay and 5K taking over the streets.

The weekend of races kicks off on Saturday, 13 January with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event.

The race run/walk starts at Montagu Beach and ends east of the ‘old’ Paradise Island Bridge adjacent to the Police Station. Start time is 7am.

On Sunday, 14 January the longer races get underway.

The Marathon starts at 6am at Junkanoo Beach. Participants will race along a flat (with the exception of two bridges) scenic route with beautiful ocean views to spur them on. The marathon ends at Arawak Cay.

Half Marathoners will also pound the pavement on Sunday. The start time, as well as the start and end locations, are the same as the marathon. This mostly flat course is ideal for all types of runners and is suitable for walkers. For those who don’t feel like running alone, a relay event is also taking place simultaneously with the half and full marathon.

The Finish Line party, complete with awards and Junkanoo, awaits all those who make it to the end.
