Caribbean Music Awards 2025

The third annual Caribbean Music Awards has expanded in 2025 with new categories and a record 150 artists nominated for honours.

The organisers of the event, The Caribbean Elite Group, announced some significant changes to the award show at a recent media unveiling.

Seven new categories have been added this year including Caribbean R&B and Zess-Steam Artist of the Year, International DJ of the Year (Female), Reggae Collaboration of the Year, and Reggae, Gospel, and Caribbean Fusion Song of the Year.

Grammy-nominated pop-dancehall singer Shenseea and Jamaican dancehall star Masicka have received the most nominations with seven each. Soca superstars Patrice Roberts and Kes are nominated for six awards.

Dancehall legend Vybz Kartel, Soca star Nailah Blackman, and Jamaican dancehall artists Chronic Law and Kranium all earned five nominations.

Speaking about the new categories, The Caribbean Elite Group, stated: “This year, the Caribbean Music Awards proudly unveils seven new categories that reflect the genre’s ongoing evolution and global influence.

“These debut categories highlight the breathtaking diversity, creativity, and expansive influence of Caribbean music today. From unforgettable performances to cultural milestones, the Caribbean Music Awards honours the best of the best — from Soca, Dancehall, and Reggae to Kompa, Chutney, Gospel, and beyond.

“This celebration is not just an awards show — it’s a movement that pays tribute to the vibrant heartbeat of the Caribbean.”
