The 10th annual Caribbean Fine Art Fair (CaFA) will be held in Barbados from 11-15 March 2020.
This event brings together over 50 visual and spoken word artists, fashion designers, sculptors, and musicians from around the Caribbean region.
Artists from Barbados, Antigua, Anguilla, Dominica, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago and the U.S. Virgin Islands are all taking part. A special presentation featuring global diaspora creators from America, Brazil, Ghana and Nigeria will also be held.
CaFA’s official website says the vision of the fair is to “become an annual exposition for the appreciation of Caribbean Visual Art and a show that captures the diversity, creativity and integrity of Caribbean art.”
Over five days, patrons can experience various artistic displays including, exhibitions, spoken word sessions, theatre presentations and fashion shows.
There will also be panel discussions on art-related topics, a craft market, and the debut screening of the documentary film ‘The Fire this Time’ on the fair’s opening night.
Most of the shows will take place at the Courtney Blackman Grand Salle Gallery and Annex at the Tom Adams Financial Centre on Spry Street, as well as the Norman Centre Mall on Broad Street.
Tickets for each day are $12 (BBD) on the door for adults, and free for children 16 years old and under and all students with ID.
