The 2023 Barbados Independent Film Festival (BFF) will be screening a diverse cast of feature films from around the world when it gets underway from 15-19 March.

The BFF, which has been running for seven years, gives local, regional, and international filmmakers a chance to show their work to the public at some of the island’s best locations.

This year’s opening night gala will be held at the Barbados Museum and Historical Society’s ‘Walled Garden Theatre’ from 6pm. A musical documentary called “Little Richard: I Am Everything” will be the first screening.

Produced and directed by Emmy award winner, Lisa Cortés, the film features interviews with Little Richard, previously unseen archive footage, testimonials from family and friends, and an impressive cast of cultural stars, icons, and entertainers who share their memories of Richard Wayne Penniman including the impact he made on them, and the international music scene. Tickets are $150 (BBD).

The BFF concludes on Sunday 19 March with ‘Shorts on the Beach’ at Southern Palms Beach Club in St Lawrence Gap. This event is sponsored by the US Embassy and is free to the public.

Tickets for the festival are available online from Ticketpal Caribbean and at box offices across the island.
