Small Island Future Festival 2025

The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill will host the Caribbean’s premier environmental festival, Small Island Future Fest (SIFF), from 20-21 June 2025.

Designed to “celebrate and promote sustainable living in Small Island Developing States,” the organisers say that “SIFF is more than just a festival, it’s a movement showcasing the resilience and innovation of island communities.”

They add that “SIFF is a celebration of Caribbean resilience and sustainability, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey toward a greener future.”

The festival is free to enter and will feature a kids’ zone, a food zone, the Blue Green Expo, live demonstrations, and family-friendly activities and games. There will also be lots of giveaways.

Background

SIFF is the annual flagship initiative of the GEF Small Grants Programme implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in collaboration with the Ashley Lashley Foundation.

The event aims to highlight practical models of sustainability and creatively inspire action and raise awareness while putting locals at the “forefront of the blue (marine environment), green (eco-friendly) and orange (cultural and creative industries) economy.”
