Jazz fans and golf enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that the Barbados Jazz Excursion and Golf Weekend is back again this year from 12-15 October.

Organised by Barbadian saxophonist Elan Trotman, the four-day event offers attendees concerts, excursions, and golf all in aid of charity.

Some of the best international and local contemporary jazz and R&B artists are lined up to take part in 2023, including Grammy Award Winners Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle, Kellie Cadogan, and the Nicholas Brancker band. Elan Trotman will also be performing.

Below are some of the scheduled activities:

Friday 13 October:

9am – Golf Practice Round at Sandy Lane Country Club.

6pm – Welcome reception at Sam Lord’s Castle.

7pm – Opening concert featuring ‘Jazz in Pink’, Julian Vaughn and Everette Harp at Sam Lord’s.

Saturday 14 October: 

10am – Celebrity Golf Tournament at Sandy Lane Country Club.

7pm – Main concert featuring Peabo Bryson & Regina Belle at Ilaro Court.

Sunday 15 October: 

10am – Jazz Brunch featuring Elan Trotman & Adam Hawley at Sam Lord’s.

8pm – Golf Tournament Prize Presentation at Sam Lord’s.

9pm – Comedy Show featuring Chris Spencer at Sam Lord’s.

10pm – All-Star Finale Jam at Sam Lord’s.

This event aims to give ticketholders an unforgettable weekend of entertainment while raising money for charity. Last year, over $10,000 (US) was donated to the Headstart Music Programme through Mr Trotman’s ‘Never Lose Your Drive Foundation’.
