The lobster season officially starts on 1 July in Belize, allowing those who enjoy this delicacy to feast on various lobster dishes at affordable prices. Lobsterfest is festive, but it’s more than having a fantastic time. The season highlights community building, fosters economic growth, and promotes Belizean culture.
Each year, events occur in multiple locations, such as Placencia, Caye Caulker, and San Pedro. We have the dates, places, and what to expect from this year’s festivities.
Belize Lobsterfest Events – Placencia, Caye Caulker, and San Pedro
Placencia Lobsterfest
Location: Placencia Village Beach Front, Placencia, San Pedro Town.
Dates: 4-6 July 2025.
The Placencia Lobsterfest celebrates the opening of the lobster season in Belize. Organised by the Placencia Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) and the Placencia Village Council, this festival typically attracts local and international visitors.
Festival highlights include children’s games, kayak racing, fly fishing, a lionfish tournament, and Placencia Lobsterfest Classics. Some noteworthy competitions include Mr and Mrs Physique, tug-o-war, Tipsy Tuna Toss, beer drinking (Belikin), the biggest lobster competition, and throwing the cast net.

Caye Caulker Lobsterfest
Location: Palapa Garden, Caye Caulker.
Dates: 18-20 July 2025.
Caye Caulker Lobsterfest has some exciting events worth adding to your calendar. The festival, held annually, celebrates the island’s fishers with various activities and events, including beach parties, live music, and delicious lobster dishes.
This year’s events will feature entertainment by DJ Dalla, DJ Khris, Evolution Sounds, Prince Kevin, Fyah Statah, DJ Silva, the Youth Connection Band, and special guest DJ Brandan Burke.
Caye Caulker Lobsterfest is the oldest lobster festival in Belize and an ideal event for the entire family. You can escape to great food, refreshing drinks, lively music, entertainment, and fun.

San Pedro Lobsterfest
Location: San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye.
Dates: 1-12 July 2025.
San Pedro Lobsterfest is the longest celebration, spanning almost two weeks. During the festival, most people attend events and visit bars and restaurants. Some typical activities include lobster crawls, beach parties, street fairs, chef pop-ups, community festivities, and the culminating block party.
