Get Ready for Something Sweet at The Chocolate Festival of Belize 2024

The Chocolate Festival of Belize is held annually in Toledo District, allowing patrons to experience Southern Belize and its offerings. The festival aims to honour the cacao fruit used in the Mayan civilisation and highlight the culture of Belize and Southern Belize’s rich history. Patrons can expect to celebrate cacao farmers, promote local businesses, and indulge in cultural experiences at the festival. This year, the festive affair occurs on 17-19 May 2024.

What you should know about Toledo and the festival.

The Toledo District of southern Belize is recognised for its superior cacao. These cacao beans are transformed into high-quality chocolate and are a significant export crop in the country. Although the festival has various festive events, it’s more than a party. Local community members receive training and mentorship to ensure quality products, exemplary services, and successful sales.

The Belize Tourism Industry Association (Toledo Chapter) leads the event, collaborating with local cacao grower organisations and businesses. The festival aims to increase employment opportunities in the tourism industry and positively impact the lives of community members.
