Fitness Coach Erlando Che of Tribe Fitness Club in Ladyville.

Fitness Coach Erlando Che has been in his industry for 10 years. He embarked on his fitness journey at FitLife501 Nutrition & Fitness Club in 2015. While there, he lost weight, learnt about fitness, and enjoyed the classes. This experience empowered him to teach classes, encourage, and motivate others on their journey. Coach Che spoke to Yello about why fitness is crucial, starting the first fitness club in Ladyville, and tips for getting fit this summer.

Coach Che, how did your fitness journey influence your career?

I started my fitness journey because I was overweight, and it inspired me to learn more about the industry. Fitness is essential for keeping the body healthy. It can reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, enhance energy levels, and improve mood and sleep. My experience made me want to help people get in shape, feel better, and add healthy years to their lives.

What motivated you to start Tribe Fitness Club in Ladyville?

I was born in San Pedro Columbia, Toledo District, and grew up in Ladyville Village. In the mornings, I saw people running or walking, indicating they were interested in being healthy. However, the closest gyms were miles outside the village or in the city. After nine years as an assistant coach at FitLife501, I knew I had the experience and skills to open a club in Ladyville. In August 2024, that became a reality.

Please share some of the services you offer.

Our services include group sessions, one-on-one coaching, in-house private classes, and body composition analysis. We plan to provide martial arts classes soon. We tailor our sessions to accommodate our clients’ schedules so they can choose morning or evening classes.

Please tell us about the club’s name and what people can expect when they join.

I am of Q’eqchi Maya descent. The club’s name symbolises strength in unity, bringing people together, and working towards our individual goals. By joining our tribe fit family, you will find the support and motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

At Tribe Fitness Club, we will help you with your health and wellness goals. If you want to lose weight, get in shape, or improve your mental health, join us and become a part of the Tribe Fit family.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

As a fitness coach, I create workout routines to keep my clients healthy. We work out in a group or one-on-one, depending on their needs. The most rewarding aspect of being a fitness coach is seeing people gain self-confidence not only about their bodies, but also mentally and physically by pushing them to their limits.

Please share some things people can do to get in shape for the summer.

You can get active by walking or jogging. Joining a gym or fitness club can motivate you to become consistent and provide a supportive group of people to encourage your progress. You should maintain a balanced diet and stay hydrated. Get adequate rest (sleep) and have fun with your workouts.

Do you have any upcoming specials or discounts?

Our monthly fee is BZ$100, but we have a summer special offer: new members pay BZ$85 each month for May, June, and July. We have one morning class (5am) and two evening classes (5:15pm and 6:15pm). Each class is an hour.

Thanks, Coach Che, for sharing with us. We wish you and the team at Tribe Fitness Club continued success.
